WEFTEC Session Description:
A special session focused applying High Performance HMIs and Alarm Management to SCADA/DCS systems in the wastewater sector. The session highlights three top papers from the 2015 ISA Water/Wastewater and Automatic Controls Symposium, which was held August 4-6, 2015 in Orlando FL USA. The WEF Automation and Information Technology Committee has partnered with the ISA to present this niche ISA symposium which takes place during the first week of August each year. This WEFTEC feature session provides WEFTEC attendees the opportunity to listen to three of the best speakers from this joint ISA-WEF event.
About the WEFTEC Moderators
Tom DeLaura, PE is an active member of AWWA and WEF at the national and local levels, currently serving as Chair of the WEF Automation & Information Technology Committee. With 38 years of experience, he has extensive experience with water utilities, and has worked in all facets of automation associated with water/wastewater systems, from pipe and plant to the boardroom. He has written and presented on numerous topics of interest to the water and wastewater industry, been involved in industry research projects, and has received awards from the industry for his dedication and service. Graham Nasby, P.Eng, PMP, CAP is a senior I&C Engineer with Eramosa, who works extensively in the municipal water and wastewater sectors. His areas of expertise include instrumentation, control systems design, electrical design, project execution and plant start-ups. Nasby is an alarm management subject matter expert, and a voting member of the ISA-18 alarm management standards committee. He is also a certified Functional Safety Engineer for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) by TUV Rheinland. In 2013, he received the ISA’s society-level Technical Division Leader of the Year award for his contributions to the municipal water/wastewater sector.
