The ISA has also partnered with the Florida Section of the AWWA and the Water Environment Federation (WEF) to certify training credits for use for state-licensed water and wastewater operators, and for state-registered professional engineers. Read the training course CEU/PDH certification. Attendees can receive Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) approved CEUs and PDHs for the training course, as certified by the Florida AWWA. These CEUs are recognized by the FDEP, as well as many other state licensing boards thanks to reciprocity agreements.All attendees have the benefit of receiving approved CEUs/PDHs (from either the ISA or FSAWWA) for the hours spent in the training course and symposium towards their water/wastewater operator and PE license continuing education requirements. |
About the Instructors
John Bogdan has over 35 years of experience in the chemicals / petrochemicals, oil & gas, and power industries. His accomplishments in the areas of alarm management, control and safety systems, process optimization, advanced process control, and advanced regulatory control have included: Leading numerous alarm management projects for clients – conducting alarm system assessments, delivering alarm management training, developing alarm philosophies, and facilitating alarm rationalizations; Training and mentoring fellow members in an alarm management consulting team; and Designing the safety and control systems for a high-hazard, process expansion and control system retrofit project.
John is a voting member of the ISA-18.2 Committee on Management of Alarm Systems in the Process Industries and an ISA instructor in alarm management. He has written and presented papers on alarm management at the Texas A&M Instrumentation Symposium for the Process Industries, the IPS North American Client Conference, the Western Regional Gas Conference, the ISA Automation World 2010, and in Control Engineering magazine.
His past work experience includes various positions with Invensys, ABB, and DuPont. John holds a B.S. & M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He is currently an independent consultant in alarm management and process control who is based out of Vienna, West Virginia, USA.
Paul Nowicki is the Global Information Design Engineer for Heat and Control Inc. With over 30 years of experience in manufacturing information, process automation, and control systems, Paul has applied his problem solving capabilities to a wide variety of industrial challenges. Paul has worked in specialty chemical, pharmaceutical, food/beverage, paper, and consumer products facilities. He is an original architect of the ISA S88 Batch Control standards and recently chaired the update committee for Part 1. He has authored numerous papers with a wide range of topics from expert systems and enthalpy control strategies, to project management and team building. Paul often puts his process skills to work with home brewing.
