The symposium committee is pleased to announce that the 2012 ISA WWAC Symposium, scheduled for Aug 7-9, 2012,  will be held at the the Holiday Inn Resort OrlandoThe Castle in Orlando, Florida, USA.  Situated close to both Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, the hotel has been selected for its fine accommodations, large meetings rooms, and affordable price.

This year’s 2012 ISA water/wastewater and automatic controls symposium features a 2.5 day format that includes a tour of a local water/wastewater facility, two days of talks/seminars, a keynote address by a leader in the industry, an invited speaker on alarm management and effective HMI design, an evening reception, a poster session, and a full-featured supplier showcase.  As part of the symposium an optional full-day short course is also being offered – the topic will be announced shortly.

The Call for Abstracts will be released on the symposium website on Monday, January 16, 2012.  Presenters will have the option of three presentation formats: a 35 minute oral presentation with PowerPoint slides (no paper), a 6-12 page paper accompanied by 35 minute oral presentation with Power Point slides, or a large format 3’x4’ poster.  The Call for Abstracts will include a suggested list of paper topics.  This year’s symposium will feature two speaking tracks. The first day will include general topics such as Instrumentation, System Integration, Automation, Plant Case Studies, New Technologies, and Process Optimization.  The second day will be focussed on SCADA, HMI, Human Factors and Alarm Management.  Other topics of interest will also be considered.  Abstracts are due on March 7, 2012.  First draft submissions are due Apr 25, 2012.

Registration for the symposium will open on Mon, January 23, 2012 and will be priced at an early bird-rate of $400 for the 2.5 day symposium.  ISA members have access to a discounted early-bird rate of $300. A discounted conference hotel rate of $79/night has also been arranged for all symposium attendees.  More information on symposium registration and how to register online will be made available shortly.
